Professor Parag Banerjee is a faculty member in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering. He is also a Lead for the faculty cluster in Catalysis. From 2018 – 2024, he was an Associate Professor and served as the first Undergraduate Program Director, successfully leading the ABET accreditation of the MSE BS program. Prior to this appointment, he was an Assistant Professor at Washington University, St. Louis. From 2000 to 2006, Professor Banerjee was an R&D process engineer at Micron Technology Inc., studying high-k dielectrics for memory applications.
Professor Banerjee obtained his PhD in 2011 with Professors Gary W. Rubloff (MSE) and Sang Bok Lee (Chemistry) at the University of Maryland. He was the first John and Maureen Hendrick’s Energy Fellow at the University. Professor Banerjee holds 11 USPTOs and has 90+ publications in the field of semiconductor materials and manufacturing.
